Gas Fire Troubleshooting

Check that the batteries on remote control handset (9v battery), also check the battery pack normally located behind the burner (4 x AA batteries).

Make sure the on/off switch (located on the right hand side on the front on the burner itself) is in the ON position.

Check that the gas flow is getting to the burner.

Check the positioning of the infra-red eye receiver, ensuring it is in a position to pick up the signal.

Try manually turning the large black knob (to the lower left of the power pack cable) anti-clockwise to the ON marker, then using remote handset press the low button and see if the knob returns to off position.

Alternatively, press and hold the reset button (black recessed button to the right of the Mertek Maxitrol sticker) for two seconds, as mentioned in the instruction manual.
